This is my favorite chicken marinade, hands down. When barbecue season rolls around, you must try this! It has the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. And when the honey hits the grill, it will get the perfect barbecue char that is so delicious.
You can use this marinade to make chicken breast skewers, chicken thighs, or drumsticks. Serve this alongside a nice big salad to get your PRO's!
1 pound chicken breast, skinless thighs or drumsticks
3 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Juice from one lime
2 garlic cloves, minced
1-2 teaspoons Sriracha, more or less depending on your spicy preference
Couple shakes of red pepper flakes, more or less depending on your spicy preference
2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
Sesame seeds
Stir all the ingredients together in a small bowl, except for the chicken and sesame seeds. Place the chicken in a zip-top bag or plastic container and pour the marinade over the chicken. Refrigerate for at least one hour, turning occasionally.Grill over medium heat until the juices run clear. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and a little more red pepper flakes to taste.
