Menopause: Is This a Joke?

Menopause: Is This a Joke? with Tamsen Fadal

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Menopause.

This word is usually spoken with such disdain, dread and even fear, and for too long it wasn’t really talked about. You just suffer through quietly, having a million questions about what’s going on with your body, and then try to survive somehow.

Tamsen Fadal is literally shredding the silence on menopause. She is an Emmy Award winning journalist, author of the new book How to Menopause, and creator and producer of the documentary The M Factor.

In this conversation, Tamsen Fadal shares her personal journey through menopause, discussing the symptoms she experienced and the lack of awareness surrounding women's health issues. We have a great conversation about the importance of education and advocacy for women in midlife, highlighting the need for better representation in the media and the necessity of lifestyle changes to thrive during this phase of life. Tamsen encourages women to embrace menopause as a transformative time rather than a negative experience, advocating for preparedness and empowerment through knowledge.

Some key takeaways:

  • Like Tamsen, many women are unaware of menopause symptoms (like brain fog, sleepless nights, and stress) until they seek help.
  • The average age for menopause is around 51, and many women are surprised to find they are in menopause earlier than expected.
  • Education for doctors about menopause has been lacking historically.
  • Menopause should not be framed as a negative experience in media.
  • Lifestyle changes, including diet and exercise, are crucial for thriving in midlife.
  • Post-menopausal women can embrace this phase as a time of freedom and opportunity.
